WHAT ARE PENILE IMPLANTS?

Penile implants are the inflatable devices placed inside the penis along with a hidden pump, which helps men with ED to get a proper erection. These penile pumps are generally recommended after other treatments for erectile dysfunction fail. This treatment for ED is usually recommended by the doctor if you tried oral medications prior without any good results.

For most of the men, erectile dysfunction can be successfully treated with use of oral medications or penis pump; one can go for penile implants if he isn’t a candidate for other treatments or if he can’t get an erection sufficient for sexual activity by using other methods.

 

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PENILE IMPLANTS?

There are two main types of penile implants that are being in use for ED.

INFLATABLE IMPLANTS- These are the most common type of penile implants used; these devices can be inflated for creating an erection & can be deflated also at other times.

SEMI-RIGID RODS- These devices are firm; it is a type of positional penile implant in which the penis can be bent away from the body for sexual activity. This device is having a central series of segments which held together with a spring on each side.
